Upon returning from time out with friends, a man was allegedly met with violence. Estcourt police are investigating  a case of assault GBH after a man from Colita was assaulted with a bush knife, allegedly by his uncle.

“On Sunday, April 19 at 12.02am the complainant came from his friend’s house and when he reached home in Gemini Street he knocked on the door and his uncle opened it for him.

But instead of letting him in, he hit him with a bush knife on the right arm. He sustained no visible injuries and was locked outside.

The victim knocked again and when the uncle opened the door this time, he hit him again with a bush knife, this time on his head and the victim was injured,” commented police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel TM Mabaso.

The incident was reported to the police, and the 32-year-old man was arrested.He appeared in the Estcourt Magistrates Court on Monday, April 20.
