A group of grade 10 isiZulu learners went on the trip to learn about the fundamentals of the isiZulu Culture and the history of the Zulu King, Shaka Zulu

A group of grade 10 isiZulu learners from Estcourt High School, together with their educators, went to Shakaland in Eshowe on Thursday, April 16 to learn about the fundamentals of the isiZulu culture and the history of the Zulu King, Shaka Zulu.

Some of the things they learnt during the trip were stick fighting, how Shaka made his spears, how married and single Zulu women dress, how baskets are made, how the Zulu beer is made, the significance of sitting around the fire during story-telling time, ingoma, the different traditional utensils and so forth.

They returned to Estcourt on April 17. This was a great experience for our learners! Thank you for Miss ZN Ndlovu for organising this trip.
