Whilst on duty at a convenience store in Harding Street last Saturday, April 18, a security officer was stabbed on his arm. According to a police report at about 2pm two men entered the store and took items without the intention of paying for them. The security guard who was observing intervened and asked the suspects to pay for the items. One of the suspects stabbed the security officer on his upper arm.
The guard sustained an open wound and ran away.”A case was opened at the Estcourt Police Station and no arrests have been made. “The motive is unknown and the investigation is continuing,” added Lt Col Mabaso.
