Winter sports challenge at Kallies Stadium today

Persons attending the event are urged to arrive early to avoid the long queues. There will also be no pass-outs as previous years.

The Endumeni Winter Sports Challenge is around the corner and is one of Endumeni’s biggest events that takes place each year.
Organiser, Ash Khan, took just under a year to plan the annual event and is looking forward to providing a weekend of entertainment for residents.
One of the highlights of the event is boxing with ten fights co-ordinated by Pretty, who is the secretary for the National Boxing Association. The boxing will take place on Saturday, May 9 at 2pm. There will be an open air boxing ring erected for the first time at this event.
There will also be eight schools participating in three different sports codes, soccer, netball and cricket, which will commence on Thursday, May 7.
Armbands will be sold at R40 for kids to enjoy the fun. The armbands entitle wearers to unlimited rides at the Funland (three to four hours), three coupons for the Funworld and entry at the gate.
Kids attending the event will get free balloons and sweets from the KZN OILS bunny rabbit.
The Winter Sports Challenge will take place at Kallies Stadium from May 7 to May 10, for the eighth year in succession. Senior sports will take place on Sunday, May 10. Only soccer, netball and volleyball will be played and there are great prizes to be won for both schools and seniors.
There will be a Funland, Funworld, modelling, magic shows, DJ’s, and a Bhangra (Friday at 8pm), just to mention a few.
Persons attending the event are urged to arrive early to avoid the long queues. There will also be no pass-outs as previous years.
Admission to the event will be R15 all round from May 8 to May 10. Parking and entry will be at your own risk.
Mr Khan thanked every person, sponsor and school who has contributed to making this event possible a huge success.
“Special thanks goes to Shaun, Gloria, Pretty, Slovo, Riaz, Haroon, Khalil, Sameer, Jergen and Yasmin for your hard work, I really appreciate your assistance. You are great. Keep up the good work,” said Mr Khan.
