Government institutions crumble under ANC watch

When asked why no generator was provided at such a vital government office, we were told that there was no money for diesel to run the generator

Sir
As load-shedding rears its ugly head and becomes part of everyday life, due to the poorly maintained state-owned Eskom, we the tax-paying public of South Africa are penalised and inconvenienced by our tardy Government.
On Friday, May 22, my husband and I, along with 28 other citizens, queued outside Home Affairs in the icy early morning wind, to obtain documents which we are requested to possess by our Government.
At 8am, the doors did not open, but at 8:05am, a Home Affairs employee strolled outside to inform us that they were closed until 10am due to load-shedding.
When asked why no generator was provided at such a vital government office, we were told that there was no money for diesel to run the generator. No pro-active plan was offered, such as offering all of us a number, so that when we returned at 10am we would not have to join the end of the line.
The attitude of the Home Affairs employees were that of “take it of leave it”. Truly a slap in the face of the tax-paying public of South Africa.
From Home Affairs I made my way to the Post Office, another Government arm – and guess what – no generator there either.
So accounts could not be paid, stamps could not be purchased – all transactions came to a stop.
Amazing how privately-owned businesses have made a plan so that their customers are not inconvenienced – the chemist has a generator, as have the banks and supermarkets.
It seems the Government institutions, who are funded by tax-payers money just don’t give a damn – it’s time off to sleep, shop or drink tea for the overpaid, uncaring employees of these Government institutions! When will the average South African realise we need a change for the better in our Government to benefit all South Africans!
The ANC is just not fulfilling any of its promises!
