Police recovered an AK47 and 22 live rounds from a man in the Sun Valley area in Weenen on Thursday, June 4. After receiving a tip-off, police acted swiftly and found the man sleeping alone at his home.
A search of the house revealed an AK 47 rifle and a magazine with 22 live rounds. “The suspect was arrested and appeared in the Weenen Magistrates Court the next day. The case was remanded to Friday, June 12 for further investigation,” commented police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel TM Mabaso.
