The DA youth shares its Vision
DA members promised to do oversight visits at Vryheid Hospital and request members in Newcastle to do the same to ensure that medical care for senior citizens is up to standards.

DEMOCRATIC Alliance youth members visited the Vryheid Old Age Home on Saturday, July 11 to share what they call their vision for 2029.
The visit was part of this youth group’s ongoing visits to various areas and facilities in Zululand in order to empower and bring about positive changes in these communities.
These young people say that they are hoping to use the little that they have to help improve the communities around them.
Refreshments were served to the elderly and they had time to interact with the members of the DA.
It is during these interactions that the point regarding issues with travelling to Newcastle for monthly check-ups was raised.
According to the report, these senior citizens sometimes go to Newcastle and return having not been assisted.
It was noted that local elderly people should be able to obtain the best medical assistance locally.
DA members promised to do oversight visits at Vryheid Hospital and request members in Newcastle to do the same to ensure that medical care for senior citizens is up to standards.
It was also noted that another old age home was required in Vryheid as the one currently in use is already full and some applications have had to be put on hold.
