Courier staff spread smiles for 67 Minutes for Mandela

Courier staff show they care.

67 Minutes for Mandela may be just a one-day initiative for some but the love and joy it spreads has a lasting impact on all those it reaches.

Northern Natal Courier staff found that out first hand when they served their 67 Minutes at the Siphuthando Care Centre in Sibongile.

Originally planning to serve hot dogs and juice to the children at the centre, staff were blown away by the welcome they received.

Even though they were on the receiving end of the good deed, staff and children of the centre went out of their way to prepare a programme filled with dances, speeches and messages of thanks from the grateful children.

The level of gratitude really blew staff away.

Once the programme was done and dusted, Courier staff dished out hot dogs and juice to the kids.

After the food was done, Care Centre staff had one more surprise in store.

Together with the kids they created a banner for Mandela Day, which each child had a hands on involvement in.

Each of the children left their mark on the banner with their paint soaked handprints.

Courier staff then also got in on the act by signing the banner, bringing an end to a memorable day for all.
