Pee and Poo Alley Closed for business

The alleyway will no longer be used as a toilet or dumping area.

The Pee and Poo Alley is now closed for ‘business’.

The alleyway, situated between the Methodist Church and Book Exchange, got its name after the constant amount of urinating and defecating taking pace in the small space.

Every morning, people walking through the alleyway would have to avoid the pee and poo.

But that wasn’t the only problem in the passage. Condoms also littered the ground, particularly after a weekend. Staff of the Book Exchange grew tired of having to clean up the mess, which not only contaminated the alleyway, but their property as well.

After numerous failed attempts to get the alleyway locked, they took it upon themselves to do a good deed and are already seeing a difference.

Michelle Fleischman of the Book Exchange said that they could already see a huge change to the alleyway and were happy that it has been a success.

The alleyway has now been locked from the both sides from 4pm in the evenings.

It’s opened again just after 8am, meaning that people can no longer use it as a shortcut during the night, but that it also can’t be abused.

However, some people have still sued it as lavatory during the day while making their way through it. Michelle warned that if people still abused the alleyway, it would be closed for good.
