Night of horror for ‘sex-worker’

Upon completion of the service, the man got violent and demanded money.

A lady of the night suffered a night of horror following a vicious robbery that turned bloody. The woman (who wished to remain anonymous) was going about her business, when she was approached by a man near the Post Office in Dundee.
The man had sought her service and asked for a “discounted rate”, to which the woman agreed and promptly left with the man.
Upon completion of the service, the man got violent and demanded money.
The woman was alarmed and tried to explain that the money was not with her.
He turned a deaf ear to her pleas and began to search her with brute force, injuring her in the process.
He then wielded a knife and stabbed the woman four times in the face before making off with her money.
The woman, who was bleeding profusely, ran frantically to call for help from a nearby group of women.
She relayed the events leading to the stabbing to them and they began to chase the perpetrator.
He outran them but the ladies, determined to get justice, flagged down one of their other customers who was passing by and asked for his assistance.
The customer joined in the chase in his car with the ladies in tow. A Mbube Security guard saw the commotion and became alarmed.
Smelling a rat, he too joined in the chase.
Shortly afterwards a Link Up security guard also saw the pursuit and joined in.
The man ran down Beaconsfield Street when he was blocked by a Link Up Security vehicle which had cornered him.
The ladies promptly told their story to the guards who arrested the man and called the police.
He was later apprehended and found with a bloody Okapi knife in his possession as well as a hammer.
The police also recovered the stolen money.
Investigating Officer, Detective Constable Nkosi apprehended the perpetrator and charged him with assault grievous bodily harm and robbery.
The man will appear in the Dundee Magistrates’ Court on July 28.
An investigation is continuing. Meanwhile, the lady of the night is still recovering from her horror ordeal.
