THIS week there is good news and bad news.

The good news is that the problems at the High Street bridge have been sorted out and if all goes well work should start again this week. If all goes according to plan we will be driving over it by the end of September. (I am too scared to say which year.)

The bad news is that despite the rain over the week end ,the water situation REMAINS CRITICAL.

Bloemveld Dam has about two meters of water left before it reaches the last intake point. Klipfontein Dam is at about 44% full.

Consumers will really have to make a huge effort to save water.

We appeal to those folk who have boreholes to use them as much as possible.

Further restrictions are being considered such as shutting off the water during the day, no using of hose pipes no washing of cars and limited watering of gardens.
