FOUR of our cricket players were selected for the Vryheid District u/13 team, namely OJ Hughes, Joshua Stoltenkamp, Kyle Crous and Joshua Stride. Well done, boys!
Several cricket matches were played during the past week. Our u/11 team played against Lucas Meyer on Monday, August 3. NRS batted first and made 11 runs. Lucas Meyer batted second and won by 10 wickets.
On Wednesday, August 5, the u/11 team played against Utrecht. NRS batted first and this time managed to get 89 runs. Utrecht made 90 runs and won by 5 wickets.
In their match against Utrecht our u/13 cricket team batted first and made 80 runs. Utrecht got 84 runs and won the match by 8 wickets.
On Thursday, August 6, our u/13 team played against Lucas Meyer. NRS batted first and made 191 runs. In their turn Lucas Meyer made 169 runs. NRS won the match by 22 runs.
Joshua Stride stood out as the best cricketer of the day, when he made 111 runs, not out. He also bowled in 6 overs, where he took 2 wickets for only 9 runs. Well done, Joshua!
