Sarel Cilliers girls scrum down for rugby

Naledi Ndala and Thandokuhle Mazibuko represented the U/18 team while Nokubonga Sikhakhane and Zama Makhoba represented the U/16 team

Sarel Cilliers High School now has an enthusiastic girls rugby team. The girls played their first match on July 30 in an extremely well played game against Talana High School which saw Sarel winning 25-10.
Zama Makhoba scored two tries while Nomfundo Khumalo, Nokukhanya Mahlaba and Alwande Ndlela each scored a try.
Congratulations to the four Sarel learners who were selected to play rugby for Natal and who were further chosen to participate in the SARU YTC games held in East London.

WESSA Ece-Quiz
On July 31, Sarel Cilliers High School competed nationally at the WESSA Eco-quizz. The team consisted of four very enthusiastic and eager learners, namely Sduduzo Khumalo, Nompumelelo Radebe, Zinhle Dlamini and Yenziwe Mbambo.
The competition proved to be extremely challenging but the team did well and are commended for participating at National level.
The highlight of the trip was the visit to Umgeni River Valley where the learners were given an educational tour and taken abseiling. The organiser, Mrs Ramdutt, would like to thank the Acting Principal Mr van Staden for his support and encouragement, and the WESSA team for providing learners with this opportunity to interact with learners from other schools.
