Business burgled – five suspects arrested

A bolt cutter was discovered at the bottom padlock of the security gate, where entry was gained

Shortly after a shop owner called it a day, locked up and headed home he got a call notifying him that his business was burgled.

On Wednesday, August 12 between 7pm and 9pm the shop owner cashed up and activated the alarm before going home. He later frantically returned after the security company called; telling him that his shop was burgled.

Upon his arrival, security officers who responded had arrested three males. A bolt cutter was discovered at the bottom padlock of the security gate, where entry was gained.

A case was filed with the Estcourt police and an investigation commenced, resulting in the arrest of another two males.

The five suspects, aged between 19 and 30, appeared before the Estcourt Magistrate Court on Friday, August 14 on charges of attempted business burglary.
