Gear-grinding action at Klein Spoortjies

A tow truck, traffic cop and tiny tots eager to be taught; what better way to end off a transport themed module?

A tow truck, traffic cop and tiny tots eager to be taught; what better way to end off a transport themed module?

Starz Towing and Forklift Hire conducted a demonstration at Klein Spoortjies Pre-Primary School on August 19 at 10am.

One of the school’s modules for the term included zoning in on the complexity of the transport industry.

The aim of the demonstration was to help pupils understand how tow trucks fit into the bigger picture.

Municipal traffic officer, Tyron Davis kicked off the proceedings by asking the pupils what they thought the purpose of tow trucks were.

Without wasting any time, a youngster yelled, “They can take cars!”

After a short verbal presentation, Flippie Liebenberg from Starz Towing fired up the engines and got to work.

The pupils were in awe from the moment the massive truck made its first move. They gasped as the machine effortlessly dragged a light motor vehicle up a steep steel slope.

After the demonstration, pupils and teachers were given an opportunity to hop onto the back and strike a pose with the master of all things tow-truck.

The school thanked Mr Liebenberg and Mr Davis for taking time out of their busy schedules to spend some time with its pupils. The experience was one they will not soon forget!
