Thieves ransack family home in Forderville

Goods to the value of about R50 000 were stolen from the home on Tuesday

Whilst away enjoying a family holiday in Durban, thieves were looting a home in FordervilleGoods to the value of about R50 000 were stolen from the home on Tuesday, August 18.

Speaking on behalf of the family, who did not want to be named, a member said that the house had been locked in the morning by her brother who went to work and all was in order.

When he returned at about 4.30pm, he was confronted by a broken window and damaged cupboards as well as a number of valuables missing.

“The burglars gained entry through a small bathroom window. They took a laptop, Xbox, Playstation, jewellery and brand new clothes,” said the family member.

The burglars fled with the stolen items without being noticed by neighbours. A case was opened at the Estcourt Police Station and the family appeals to anyone who has information about the stolen goods to convey it to the police on 036 342 9525.
