LANDBOU is very excited because our Agri specialist, Mr Mathenjwa, is going for an internship of a year to South Wales, in Australia.
He will be working on a cattle and sheep farm. We would like to wish Mr Lungelo Mathenjwa well and pray that he will have a wonderful time in Australia and come back to Landbou and use this experience to add value to our school.
Landbou would also like to report that they have been taking part in Soccer, Netball, Chess, Cricket and Volleyball. Landbou played against Inkamana High school. We would like to congratulate all the teams that took part to make this a successful day. Thank you to the learners for their good sportsmanship. Landbou would also like to express our gratitude towards Inkamana High for warmly welcoming us. Landbou also engaged in a battle of wits against Inkamana High School as learners took part in the Debate Team. We want to thank Inkamana for their sportsmanship and express our thanks towards the learners for conducting themselves in a manner fit to keep the Landbou name proud.
Our annual Speech and Drama and festival took place on Monday, June 17 at the school. Our learners showed remarkable talent and achieved exceptional scores. We give thanks to the organisers who made the day a success. A special word of thanks goes to Mrs L Pieters, Mrs G Tasseron and Mrs L Vrey, who had to prepare learners for this event. Some of the achievements included a range of A to C. The school received 29 A+, 10 A, nine B+, six B and three C. Comment received from Ms. S Wade from the Speech and Drama Association of South Africa states that it’s always a pleasure to visit the Landbou family and witness the extraordinary talent that learners portray.
We also had a visit from the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Education on Wednesday, August 19. These two departments will work together in the Revitalization Programme for Agricultural Schools in the future. It seems as if good things are coming.
