Arts, culture and sport at Michaelis
Various pieces were performed by the children such as poetry, verse, song, recorder and dance, while the parents snacked on delicious treats they had brought along in their picnic baskets. Congratulations to the teachers and children on a well-supported, colourful and entertaining evening.
ON MONDAY, the u/11 team played against Pongola on the LMS field.
With their hugely improved team, Pongola really gave the boys a tough match. In the end they were the victors by a mere 10 runs. Congratulations, Pongola! The best batsman and bowler was once again Rudi Dedekind with 20 runs and 3 wickets. He has improved so much during the season. Well done, Rudi! We would also like to thank LMS for the use of their field.
The u/13 boys played against Pongola on Wednesday. Pongola batted first and got 114 runs for 9 in their 20 overs. In their innings, our boys batted well until the first wickets started falling, managing to even the score with the last ball of the match. Our best batsman was Cameron Aitken who scored 38 runs, and the best bowler was Liam Watson who got 2 wickets for only 7 runs.
