VRYHEID Agricultural High School is truly proud to have achieved an internationally recognised symbol of excellence from Eco Schools.
It includes Bronze, Silver and Green Flag Certificates as well as a Green Flag. Landbou is one of 1100 Schools over 52 countries worldwide which participate in projects to improve and manage a sustainable environment. Landbou has been registered with Eco Schools since 2012, undertaking a project in greening the environment through ‘Waste Management,’ coordinated by Ms S Khonjelwayo. We will continue to empower our learners to be the change which our sustainable world needs.
Landbou would also like to congratulate all the teachers for the excellent teaching on a daily basis. Landbou would like to congratulate the matric teachers of 2014 who received an award for a 100% pass rate in their subjects.
The school would also like to welcome back ‘Mr A,’ who has once again joined the team of Landbou teachers. Mr Adipojue will be responsible for teaching Agricultural Science. Mr Henk Kirchner will be leaving Landbou at the end of August. We wish him all the best in for his future.
The school also took part in soccer and cricket this past week against Utrecht. The sport was played in good spirit. Landbou would like to thank all the young men that did us proud on and off the sport field. Landbou would also like to thank Utrecht High School for hosting and warmly welcoming us.
Landbou was part of the Choir Festival that was held on Thursday, August 27. The event was held at the show grounds in Newcastle. The school would like to express their gratitude to Newcastle for the invitation to take part in a wonderful show. We say a heartfelt thank to all the learners who practiced very hard to make the night a success.
