WE HAVE had an awesome third term, and the end is not yet in sight!
First of all, Risen Son had their bi-annual concert. The students and teachers put together an excellent production called ‘RSTV: Risen Son TV!’ All the students and teachers participated, and we are proud to say that they did a fantastic job. Thank you to Joe and Melissa as well as Golden Peak Spur for providing dinner to our students, to Vryheid High for the use of their hall, Marina de Beer from Stepping Out Dance Academy, to all the teachers for the effort that they put in, to the community for your unending support and to our students who are so talented! Well done!
On Friday, August 21, 22 students went on the quarterly Honours Roll Student trip to Lancaster Lodge. Having the odd weather that we do, it counted in our favour because the students had an awesome day swimming and braaing outside. Photos of all the fun in the sun can be found on our facebook page, Risen Son Academy. Thank you to Lancaster Lodge for hosting us, and congratulations to our students.
Another fun evening was had at Golden Peak Spur on Tuesday, August 25, where our students shadowed the Spur waitresses. Our sincere thanks go out to Spur for their continued support of our school, and for opening up their doors to us so regularly. Our twenty six 1000’s Club students (receiving 100% for 10 tests – wow!) were taken to Spur for the ‘biggest ice-cream ever’ on Friday, August 28, but before the ice-creams, Golden Peak Spur spoilt our students with free cake and sodas! Thank you so much Spur! Our kids really enjoyed it so much, and it is something that they always look forward to.
