Jail time for two rapists
While on her way to visit a friend, the accused assaulted and dragged her to his home nearby where he raped her, only releasing her at 4am.

Musawenkosi Siwela and Phila Kubheka were sentenced to lengthy prison terms by the Madadeni Regional Magistrate’s Court last week.
Siwela was convicted of raping two minors in oSizweni in 2011. He was sentenced to 50 years’ imprisonment.
According to police, the victim in Kubheka’s case had a fight with her grandmother on June 1, 2012 at midnight. While on her way to visit a friend, the accused assaulted and dragged her to his home nearby where he raped her, only releasing her at 4am.
The victim reported the matter to oSizweni police.
Police investigations revealed Kubheka had fled the province. The case was taken over by the Newcastle Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit, who obtained DNA evidence and tracked and arrested the suspect in Ivory Park, Gauteng.
He was denied bail as he was deemed a flight risk and was remanded in custody until his court appearance on August 24.
The court sentenced Kubheka to life behind bars; a conviction welcomed by the State.
