The 30-year-old woman who was arrested with rock cocaine yesterday (Thursday) is due to appear in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court today. She faces charges of being in possession of drugs.
The intelligence-driven operation saw officers swooping on a business premises in Forbes Street, where they conducted a thorough search and eventually found about 50 pieces of rock cocaine in the possession of a woman (foreign national).
Ladysmith Crime Intelligence and Ladysmith Visible Policing Unit officers were involved in the search and arrest.
The seized drugs have a street value of around R2500 to R3000.
