Biker dies after machine hits pothole

A pothole is being blamed for causing the rider to lose control and crash

A motor biker rider  was killed yesterday afternoon on the R602 near Dannhauser.

ER24 Paramedics responded to the scene, and on arrival, found a male patient being treated by provincial services.

“On assessment, paramedics found that the patient had sustained severe injuries to his chest and head, and was in a critical condition, ” said ER 24’s Russel Meiring.

Paramedics immediately began their treatment and provided the patient with advanced life support. Unfortunately, after 40 minutes, the patient succumbed to his multiple fatal injuries.

It is understood that the patient was on his motorcycle when he hit a pothole, causing him to lose control of his vehicle.

Local authorities were on the  scene for further investigations.
