
A homeowner at 76 First Avenue in Forderville left for work on the morning of May 28, 2008 and upon returning made a shocking discovery.
He noticed that his house was broken into and a Sansui radio set valued at R3 000 was stolen.
He immediately reported the crime to the Estcourt police and an investigation commenced. With the help of fingerprint experts, detectives working on the case arrested 34-year-old Manole Ben Nkabini recently.
“This case sends a message to all wrong doers, no matter how long ago you commit a crime, the long arm of the law will eventually catch you,” said police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel TM Mabaso. The 34-year-old suspect made an appearance before the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, September 3 facing charges of house break-in and theft.
