R15 000 worth of valuables stolen during smash-and-grab
According to the SAPS’ Major Mbatha, more than five smash-and-grab cases were reported to them this past weekend.
THE VRYHEID SAPS have again issued a warning for locals not to leave valuable items within reach sight when they park their vehicles in town.
According to the SAPS’ Major Mbatha, more than five smash-and-grab cases were reported to them this past weekend.
“In one of these cases items to the value of R15 000 were stolen from a vehicle that was parked in High Street,” said Major Mbatha.
Major Mbatha warns community members to never leave their valuables unattended and within the sight of criminals regardless of how long they think it may take them to get back to their vehicle.
“Most of the victims say that they were only “grabbing something quickly” and that is where they are wrong, criminals are always on the lookout for items to steal and they operate very quickly,” Major Mbatha concluded.
