
An argument broke out in Papkuilsfontein on Sunday, September 6 between two males at approximately 8pm. One of the onlookers noticed that the one man had a gun pushed in the waistband of his pants.
The argument soon heated up and the bystander, fearing that someone would be shot, called the police to intervene.
Police proceeded to the scene and upon arrival asked the suspect to produce a valid licence for the firearm in his possession, he did not have one. The suspect was arrested and taken to the police station where he was detained.
On Monday, September 7 he appeared before the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court for being in possession of an unlicensed firearm.
