Canine crippled in collision
According to a report by KwaZulu Private Ambulance's Vryheid crew, Bianca's leg was operated on after the incident and a stainless steel rod was placed in the leg for support.
AFTER a harrowing ordeal at the intersection of Landdrost and Utrecht Streets on Monday, September 21, Mrs Van Rooyen and her four-legged ‘daughter,’ Bianca, are well on the road to recovery.

KwaZulu Private Ambulance responded swiftly to the two vehicle collision where Landdrost Street meets Utrecht Street. The exact cause of the accident remains unknown, however, it is believed that the driver of the bakkie fled the scene, while the driver of the light motor vehicle, Mrs Van Rooyen, subsequently sustained minor injuries caused by the collision.
At the time of the accident, Mrs Van Rooyen’s canine companions were traveling in the vehicle with her and, while two of the dogs escaped injury, the third, named Bianca, sustained a broken hind leg from the impact.

Bianca was treated at the scene, immobilised and transported to a nearby veterinary clinic for treatment, while the two uninjured “four-legged children” were kept safely out of harm’s way. According to a report by KwaZulu Private Ambulance’s Vryheid crew, Bianca’s leg was operated on after the incident and a stainless steel rod was placed in the leg for support.
“We wish them well on their road to recovery,” added the compassionate crew of KwaZulu Private Ambulance.
