Update: Car crashes and burns
Police discovered that the vehicle had been reported stolen, and a 21-year-old suspect was arrested and charged

A 21-year-old made a brief appearance in court yesterday, facing charges of theft of a motor vehicle.
The suspect, who is family of the owner of the Audi that crashed, was handed the car on Sunday to take it for a wash.
It is then believed that the 21-year old decided to take the car for a drive. The Audi was travelling from town towards Ezakheni when it crashed and burst into flames on the Helpmekaar Road near St Chad’s.
The vehicle veered off the road, up an embankment and onto rocks at the roadside. The occupants fled the scene.
On arrival, Ladysmith firefighters extinguished the blaze. Police then discovered that the vehicle had been reported stolen.
The 21-year-old suspect was arrested and charged.
