Ladysmith Detective Services are appealing to the community to assist them in identifying a dead person.
On Sunday, the body of a man estimated to be around 50 years of age was found by police lying in a vacant building in Golf Street. The deceased had been beaten to death.
He was wearing a long-sleeved white T-shirt, beige jeans, black work boots and black socks.
He is described as being around 1.7m tall and weighs around 80kg.
He has no distinguishing features or marks on his body.
Anyone who can assist police in their investigation or can shed light on the identity of the deceased is requested to contact investigating officer Constable Maseko on 036-638-3331 or 084-433-4539.
