
2 learners, aged 19 and 21, were arrested in possession of a small amount of dagga on Thursday.
This after Ladysmith Social Crime Prevention and Visible Policing officers paid a visit to a local high school. Their intention was to rid the school of any illegal substances.
The 2 learners appeared in the Ladysmith Magistrate’s Court the following day (Friday).
Police will continue to conduct operations and searches at schools in an effort to reduce the use of drugs and the carrying of dangerous weapons at schools.
