BREAKING NEWS: Taxi overturns on Utrecht Road
A collision on the Utrecht Road started the weekend on a rather negative note.
A staggering 13 people were injured yesterday evening on the R34 Utrecht Road, outside of Newcastle.
The people had been traveling in a taxi, when the driver allegedly lost control of his vehicle to avoid another vehicle. This had apparently resulted in the taxi overturning.
One person sustained serious injuries, while another suffered moderate injuries and the remaining 11 endured minor injuries.
The patients were treated on the scene before being transported to Madadeni Hospital and Mediclinic Newcastle.
Police are currently investigating the matter.
