Vryheid Round Table 129 – Make a difference, save a life
For those who don’t know, Bandanna Day is an initiative by the Sunflower Fund whereby bandannas are sold to pay for the tests required for volunteers to get onto the Bone Marrow Registry.
RECENTLY the Vryheid Athletics Club invited us to assist with their Big Walk.
We were asked to supply them with the Bandannas for the walk, and decided to show support by joining in! Congratulations to the men and ladies of the Vryheid Athletics Club, 357 registrations mean that 357 more people know about Bandanna Day and the Sunflower Fund! We hope to be able to join you in a similar initiative next year. Who knows, maybe we can get the whole of Vryheid walking on Bandanna Day!
For those who don’t know, Bandanna Day is an initiative by the Sunflower Fund whereby bandannas are sold to pay for the tests required for volunteers to get onto the Bone Marrow Registry. This is the registry used to identify possible donors for cancer patients in need of such a life saver! So, buying a bandanna or supporting such initiatives means more than just a donation – it could be saving someone’s life!
For any information on how to become a donor – like we all did – contact any member of Vryheid Round Table.
“Make a difference and save a life!”
