Two killed in R34 overtaking tragedy
It is alleged that the driver of the car involved in the accident attempted to overtake a combi on the R34 near Inkamana Abbey just outside of town when he collided with an oncoming bakkie.

Tragedy struck on the R34 Melmoth road at noon today, November 12, when an overtaking manoeuvre went horribly wrong.
It is alleged that the driver of the car involved in the accident attempted to overtake a combi on the R34 near Inkamana Abbey just outside of town when he collided with an oncoming bakkie.
According to attending paramedics from KwaZulu Private Ambulance, the ‘jaws of life’ had to be implemented to free the driver and two passengers of the car, as well as the bodies of the two occupants of the bakkie, who tragically died on impact.
Three people from the combi sustained minor injuries as a result of the accident.
