Cellphone saves man’s life

As the bomb went off his Samsung smartphone took a direct hit

In a night of absolute horror, remarkable survival stories are beginning to surface.

While Isis have taken responsibility for the blast, one man’s story of survival has captured the imagination of the world.

When the bomb exploded, he had just ended a call, his phone was still at his ear when a piece of shrapnel that would have ripped his head off smashed into the phone. The man, who was thrown to the ground, was initially unaware that his phone had saved his life…

Talking to reporters minutes after the attack, he is still amazed at his escape.

In a statement release by the Islamic State jihadist group, they claimed responsibility for the attacks in Paris that left more than 128 people dead in a statement posted online on Saturday. It said “eight brothers wearing explosive belts and carrying assault rifles” conducted a “blessed attack on… Crusader France.”
