The main water line leading to Van Riebeeck Park has been closed for repairs

Water was seen spraying skyward next to the banks of the Klip River at the Waterworks Plant (Klip River Bridge on the bypass) this morning.

At about 11am, uThukela was notified of a major pipe burst. They were at the scene in 20 minutes.

The main water line leading to Van Riebeeck Park was closed while repairs were carried out.

It is still unknown what caused the pipe to burst and for how long Van Riebeeck Park will be without water due to repairs. It is expected to take the whole of today (Wednesday).

Van Riebeeck Park has not experienced any water-shedding throughout the whole drought.
