Do not fall for this scam

LOCALS are warned to be on the lookout for any suspicious phonecalls or sms’ where they are offered jobs at a certain price.

LOCALS are warned to be on the lookout for any suspicious phonecalls or sms’ where they are offered jobs at a certain price.
The latest scam involves a man who calls himself Khumalo and claims to work for the Vryheid SAPS.
It is said that this Khumalo targets unaware community members by calling them and informing them that he works at the HR department of the local Correctional Services.
He then informs the victim that he can put their name on a certain list of people set to go on training and set up an interview for them.
The man then requests that you pay a certain fee in order to “secure your spot”.
Some community members have had to be sent back home after arriving at the local SAPS with their bags claiming to have arrived to be taken to the training centre of which they had been informed.
The SAPS would like to again remind community members that they do not ask for any money when recruiting new personnel and that such is usually an indication of a scam and should be reported immediately.
