The SAPS are our first line of defense against criminal activity, but who protects them from shady characters?
The Police, Prison Civil Rights Union (POPCRU) picketed outside the police station earlier today in order to create awareness surrounding police murders.
“There is a national March in Gauteng today regarding police killings. POPCRU shop stewards from the local Emalahleni area gathered here to show solidarity to the march,” said Nkosinathi Mazibuko, an SAPS shop steward.
Mr Mazibuko said the gathering of picketers received good support from the community, as they ensured their voices were heard.
“We will be going to Durban on December 4 to participate in another National March,” Mr Mazibuko concluded, emphasising that police murders would not be accepted.
