Standing up against the killing of policemen

A handful of picketers gathered and raised placards high into the air, bearing messages that showed their disgust and anger

Members of POPCRU (Police And Prisons Civil Rights Union), together with SAPS and RTI officers, picketed at the Ladysmith police station on Friday afternoon.

The aim was to stand up against the killing of police officers around the world, and that the killers must pay for their deeds.

A handful of picketers gathered and raised placards high into the air, bearing messages that showed their disgust and anger.

One of the slogans read, ‘Cops are also humans’, among many others.

The POPCRU members and officers were there for about an hour before they dispersed.

“I really pray hard that the killing of cops will end and that justice will prevail at the end of the day,” said a POPCRU member.
