A farm attack was thwarted when the lady of the house on Diepkloof farm activated the panic alarm when she and her employees were threatened by an armed man.

The Burger family was at home on Friday, November 20, when Mrs Burger was approached by the man, said police spokesman Col Jay Naicker.

It is understood that her husband, Org Burger, was not in the main house at the time, police added.

“The suspect instructed them to lie down and demanded the complainant to open her office. The complainant activated the panic alarm and the suspect fled the scene. Nothing was taken and no shots were fired. A case of attempted house breaking was opened at Dundee police station for investigation and no arrest has been made.”
