One man suffered critical injuries in a rear-end accident on the N3 between Nottingham Road earlier this morning.The man was on his motorcycle when it collided into the rear of a bakkie, while traveling along the North bound lane.

At the time of the accident paramedics were on standby between Balgowan and Lions River.Exact detail to the cause of the accident will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.

Netcare 911 advanced life support paramedics rushed to the biker and discovered that he sustained life-threatening injuries.

“After placing him on a ventilator and immobilising him on a trauma board, they transported the critically wounded man to a hospital in Pietermaritzburg for the specialised care that he required,” said Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha
