Update: Farm attack on Driefontein road

Mr Hume asked the man to leave, at which point he drew a 9mm firearm

A farm on the Driefontein road was the target of an attack this afternoon.

Farm owner Mr Colin Hume said he was walking down the passage at about 2pm when he saw the silhouette of someone standing with half their body hidden behind a wall and looking into the house. He asked the man what he wanted and the man responded that he wanted work.

Mr Hume asked him to leave, at which point the man drew a 9mm firearm.

The dogs in the house started barking, but they could not attack as the security gate was locked.

Mr Hume then went into his bedroom to get his firearm. However, when he returned, the would-be attacker had run away.

Sharaj Ambulance Services responded, but no one was injured.

At the moment, police are searching the area.
