Bakkie crashes through barrier on Colenso road
The driver sustained a head injury and his feet were trapped
A Toyota Hilux bakkie was written off on the Colenso/Pieters road today (Sunday) after crashing through the barrier at the side of the road. The driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle.
Fire and Emergency Services were on scene and were able to get the man out of the vehicle. He was responsive at the time. The driver sustained a head injury and his feet were trapped. He also sustained lacerations to the cheek.
It is believed at this stage that the driver may well have been under the influence of alcohol.
He was transported to hospital for further treatment.
