BREAKING NEWS: Ithala Bank robbed this morning

The thieves gained access to the safe, allegedly cutting it open with an angle grinder, making off with a substantial amount of cash and the handheld radio belonging to the security guard.

ROBBERS struck at Ithala Bank at about 2am this morning.

While investigations are currently underway, it is believed that the thieves gained access to the premises after tying up the security guard on duty and smashing a hole through the wall at the back of the building.

The thieves gained access to the safe, allegedly cutting it open with an angle grinder, making off with a substantial amount of cash and the handheld radio belonging to the security guard.

Branch Manager, Njabuliso Majola, was unable to provide any further information regarding the break in, but disclosed that police were busy at the scene when he arrived at the bank.
