Mayor Vincent Madlala’s bodyguard, Dumisani Ntuli, shot his girlfriend, Ayanda Ndimande, before turning the gun on himself on Friday morning.

Police rushed to the scene of the shooting in Ezakheni E-Section.

At this stage, the motive for 39-year-old Ntuli to kill his 29-year-old girlfriend is unknown.

After a heated argument, he shot her before turning his municipal-issue firearm on himself.

The mayor, in a press release, expressed his deepest condolences to the Ntuli and Ndimande families on the tragic deaths of their family members.

Dumisani was described as a loyal and trusted bodyguard who was assigned to protect the mayor since 2012.

This is the second of the mayor’s bodyguards to kill their partner and themselves.
