Man burns himself to death in car
This is the latest of three suicides in the family of four, and Yateesha Sukoo is now the only family member who is still alive

49-year-old Mr Rishiraj Sukoo burnt himself to death in his vehicle in Lambert Park, Estcourt, on December 20.
Mr Sukoo resided in Ladysmith for years. He parked his car in Lambert Park sometime on the Sunday. He soaked himself and his car in petrol, before setting himself on fire. Police found his charred remains in the gutted car.
This is the latest of three suicides to hit the family of four, and daughter Yateesha Sukoo is the only surviving member of the family together with her son Yatheel.
In March 2010, her mother Priscilla hanged herself at the family home.A year later, in March 2011, her brother Yatheen hanged himself at his home. “I have borne a terrible loss, losing three members of my family over the years. “I only have my teenage son Yastheel with me now,” says Yateesha.
“I would like to urge the community not to blame me for the death of my dad, my mother or my brother, and to be more compassionate,” she adds. The community was shocked to hear about the latest tragic death in the suicide-plagued family.
