Sarel prefects return with new zest

They believe they will lead the school, especially the grade 8s, to new heights with their new skills and make 2016 a bright year at Sarel Cilliers.

On January 14 the prefects of Sarel Cilliers travelled to White Mountain Lodge near Escourt for team building.

They were divided into groups for activities during the weekend, including group dynamics, orientation, development and problem solving, different obstacles and raft building, where they had to rely on their team mates to succeed.

They had to face obstacles along the way. The biggest was probably facing their fears. Activities they had to complete individually, with support from their fellow prefects from a distance. These included foefie sliding and jumping a 10m high cliff.

During the weekend they encountered Jonathan from Radio Raps, who entertained them. They had a lot of fun, overcame their fears, got so dirty they had to throw away some clothes, but most of all they learned to work together as a team.
