It is alleged that the van initially stopped after hitting the boy, but then drove off

A nine-year-old boy was involved in a hit ‘n run accident this afternoon.

The boy was hit by a white van in Forbes Street. It is alleged that the van initially stopped after hitting the child, but then drove off.

Community members tried their best to help by providing blankets to keep the boy warm and for him to lie on.
