Counterfeit goods and alcohol seized

Counterfeit goods were seized on Thursday morning after Ladysmith K9 officers were requested to render assistance to a counterfeit investigator.
Vendors in the CBD were visited and counterfeit goods consisting of branded clothing were seized.
The vendors were issued with a civil undertaking and the goods will be transported to a central point where they will be destroyed. A quantity of counterfeit pre-recorded CDs were also confiscated.
On the same day in the Shayamoya area, Ladysmith Visible Policing officers arrested a 37-year-old female for selling liquor without a licence. The suspect was found with 16 crates of beer, as well as a couple of bottles of hard liquor. She faces charges of dealing in liquor without a licence.
The seized liquor consists of 154 litres and is valued at about R4000. The suspect will appear in court soon.
