Update: Man shot dead at his home in Van Riebeeck Street
It seems as if the deceased may have mistakenly shot himself with his own firearm
It is unclear exactly what occurred, but it seems at this stage as if the deceased may have mistakenly shot himself with his own firearm at his home in Van Riebeeck Street on Saturday afternoon.
A firearm was recovered at the scene.
Police, K9 Unit officers, Sharaj Ambulance Services, EMRS, and Fire & Emergency Services were on scene.
Detectives are investigating an inquest into the death.
The deceased has not yet been officially identified.
