He’s the best of the best, with a provincial award to prove it.
As the financial head of the Amajuba SAPS cluster, Lieutenant-Colonel Mzwakhe Zulu’s duties entail the management and control of the cluster station’s budget.
He was recently nominated for the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner’s Service Excellence Awards in the administration category.
Up for the title of Best Employee of the Year, the following achievements were noted in his department during the 2014/2015 period:
– No irregular expenditure was reported.
– No under expenditure or overspending was reported.
– The cluster placed first in the province for payment of private calls, and received the letter of appreciation from the provincial office.
Lt-Col Zulu was nominated based on the following criteria:
– Achievement towards the strategic objectives of the organisation linked to the KPA’s of the nominee (individual).
– Dedication to the line of duty.
– Creativity, initiative, innovation and resourcefulness displayed by the employee towards service delivery.
– Impact value added to service delivery.
– Attributes.
The awards aim to recognise and reward stellar performance, resulting in the overall improvement of service delivery and morale among employees on all levels.
The ceremony took place at an Umhlanga Rocks hotel last month, where Lt-Col Zulu was rewarded handsomely for his hands-on approach.
With the title of ‘Best Employer of the Year’ under his belt, he will continue to work diligently to help the cluster grow from strength to strength.
